The college always keeps an eye to the needs of the students and hence optimum infrastructural facilities are provided to them under following heads:

 

Library

 

1. The College Library caters to the academic need of the students as well as the members of the teaching and non-teaching staff from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30p.m. on Saturday for the Day Section and it is open for the Evening Section from 1.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Recess 1.30 p.m. to 2.00 p.m.(Day Section) and 4.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Evening Section).

2. Library Card/ Reading Room Card issued to the students during the beginning of their first year classes are to be produced in order to make use of the library and the Cards are to be renewed at the beginning of each academic session.

3. Strict silence and order must be observed by all in the Library.

4. Only one book will be issued per card to the General course students and two books to the Hons. Course students for a fortnight only.

5. Books must be returned within the due date failing which a fine of Re.1/- (one) per day will be imposed).

6. If any defect, writing or marking is noticed in a book that is being borrowed, that should be intimated to the librarian immediately. Failure to this checking renders are liable to be considered responsible for defects noticed on the return of the book.

7. Magazines, Journals, Periodicals and Reference Book superscribed “Not to be issued” or “Confined to Library” can be used within the Reading Room only.

8. Library Card is not transferable and it must be returned at the time of leaving the college or at the end of each academic session.

9. Library Clearance Certificate from the Librarian is indispensable to a sent up student to fill in the form of the respective University Examination.

10. A lost card may be replaced by a new one, on payment of Rs.10/- as fine.

11. The students shall be provided library facilities on the basis of their attendance and extra library facilities shall be provided to the students who have secured attendance more than 75% in the class and have shown excellence in their respective academic performances.

12. Book Bank facilities for poor and meritorious students shall be introduced soon.

 Women Cell:

The Women Cell of Bidhan Chandra College, Rishra, Hooghly was established on 09/03/2013. The aim of this cell is to make awareness about gender-equality.

Railway/Bus Concession:

 

Students willing to avail of concession in Railway/Bus fares will have to apply to the Principal for issuance of certificates. Impersonation or any other kind of misuse of the concession forms will be severely punished. To get Railway concession for travelling between the college and home town/village, application from a student must bear the counter signature of the parent/guardian.


Complaint Box and Grievance cell:

 

A Complaint Box in front of second entrance of the college is for receiving any sort of concrete complaint of the stake holders. They are asked to submit written complaint in the box and the task of the concerned members of the Grievance cell is to look into those complaints.

Career and Counselling Cell:

The Career and Counselling Cell is operative with a view to unfold the career opportunities of the students and insttill confecdence in them to face the callenging professional world.

5. Stress Management Session for Non-Teaching Staff of college conducted by Centre for Counselling Services and Studies in Cell Development, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, 10th September, 2015.

6. Career Councelling for B. Com students on Career in Share Market conducted by Mr. Rudha Prasad Dutta, expert from Bombay Stock Exchange on 29th September, 2015.

Cycle Stand :

 

Cycles/Two Wheelers must be kept only in the Cycle Stand (to be inagurated very soon) of the college, if the students do not follow it, they shall be fined.
