NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME( NSS)

Under the auspices of the University of Calcutta, NSS was started in the College from April 2000. At present our college possesses 3 units of NSS-two for boys (Day & Evening) and one for girls.

The first unit of National Service Scheme ( NSS) was established on 24th September,2000 on the occasion of National Foundation Day of NSS. Another units like unit II & III was also established in 2009 & 2010 respectively. The main objectives of NSS are as follows:

v  To develop a sense of involvement in the task of National development organised by the students themselves.

v  Development of personality of students through community service.

v  Main motto is- NOT ME BUT YOU.

v  Encouraging students to work together.

v  Emphasizing dignity of labour and self-help.

Regular Activities of NSS units – Distribution of study materials, food packets, sanitizer, masks to the children of our adopted slum in Ward no 8 & 9 of Rishra municipality on 31 st August,2021.

A cultural program on special occasion of NSS Foundation Day on 24th September, 2021 will be organized including a instant speech by the students of our college.

One Day Awareness Program on "CRIME & SOCIETY" an initiative taken by Chandernagore Police Commisionerate in collaboration with Bidhan Chandra College NSS units on 8th December, 2021 at 12:30 in Seminar Hall

Celebration of Republic Day 2022: NSS unit of the College Celebrated Republic Day 2022 on 26th January, 2022 by organizing an Essay Competition (Online) for the students.

 4) Blood Donation camp is organised by NSS units in collaboration with IQAC on 22nd March 2022 at Bidhan Chandra College premises. Total 52 units of blood collected by Serampore Walsh Hospital.

5) Seven days special camping program has been organised by NSS units at 8 & 9 ward of Rishra municipality ( Adopted slum) from 25/03/22-31/03/22.

6) Celebration of International Yoga Day, 2022 on 20/06/2022 via Google Meet

7) Webinar on "Yoga Practice in Short Time" organized by NSS in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College on 20/06/2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM via Google Meet
