Bidhan Chandra College, Rishra, affiliated with the University of Calcutta, is located in the heart of the industrial belt of the Serampore Sub-Division in Hooghly District, West Bengal. Established in 1957, the college was named in honor of the eminent Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, the then Chief Minister and architect of modern West Bengal. Its foundation was made possible through the generous contributions of the Birkmyre Education Trust, along with the support of notable well-wishers such as Late Shribhusan Bose, Late Pannalal Mukherjee, Late Principal Kanai Lal Ganguly, and others whose dedicated efforts shaped the institution.
